Mr. G. Nekerwon Gweh is a communications professional with more than 7 years of progressive experience in broadcast journalism, public relations, advocacy, and administration, as well as public health communication. He currently serves as Communications Officer for Africa CDC, where he is responsible for media relations and outreaches and supports the development of the strategy for Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE). He further supports the design of creative campaign messages for different audiences and communication platforms during outbreak response; and also coordinates and supervises the communication unit within the division of Policy, Health Diplomacy and Communication at Africa CDC.
He has additional experience in safety regulations, risk management, and community development. Before joining Africa CDC, he served as a Risk and Safety Monitor for the International Medical Corps (IMC) in Liberia during the 2014 Ebola virus disease outbreak in West Africa.
Nekerwon has a Master’s in Project Management with an emphasis in risk and communication, a bachelor’s in Mass Communication, and other professional training certificates.
